Eating seasonally – through pie: Sweet potato

Sweet potato pie - blondewalk

Watch out, pumpkin! Sweet potato pie is here. We never would have guessed this pie could surpass the excellence of pumpkin, but it just might have. While a little more labour than pumpkin (yes, you actually have to boil/peel/mash the sweet potatoes), we promise – it’s worth it. We’re not sure if it was the unbelievable aroma this pie filled our house with, but it seemed to take forever to bake, perhaps over an hour. Be patient and know the pie is only done when a toothpick comes out clean, not a minute before! Impress your family with this pie over the holidays – you won’t regret it.

Don’t forget to share photos on Instagram of the pies you’re making with the hashtag #bwpiechallenge. We can’t wait to see your beautiful creations for the last month of our pie challenge!
