There is nothing better than the aroma of freshly baked bread, especially on a frigid winter day. The task of baking bread from scratch can sound daunting, but this recipe is tried and true and is the only one you will ever need.

HARVEST BREAD

Directions

Mix together white flour, salt, sugar and yeast in kitchen aid (paddle attachment), then make a well in the centre. Add eggs, canola oil and warm water. Continue to mix with paddle attachment. Then add flax, oats, wheat germ and whole wheat flour and mix well. Change to hook attachment and add about 3 to 3.5 cups flour and mix well.

Place in greased bowl and cover with plastic and a tea towel. Place in oven with light on. Kneed down three times, every 15 minutes. The fourth time, form into 4 loaves, put into greased pans and fork out bubbles. Let rise (covered) another 30 minutes in warm place. Bake 350° for 45 minutes.
